Mia is native to Los Angeles, grateful to have been exposed to and inspired by its diverse music scene. At age nine, she began private voice lessons and developed a keen understanding of vocal anatomy/health, music theory, and vocal technique.
Her current musical style draws from an eclectic background, ranging from contemporary musical theatre to jazz, pop, and soul/R&B. She studied classical voice for two years before leaving to study music at the University of Edinburgh.
Mia firmly believes music should be more accessible to people of all abilities, and over the past 4 years has loved teaching people with Down Syndrome in both a musical context and not. She recognizes music as the bridge that transcends labels such as ability, culture, race, gender etc. by connecting us to our humanity while still celebrating our differences. She hopes to fully explore the power of music by studying music therapy.
